    Prop Hunt

    Hi there!
I've been playing prop hunt for a little while now, now part of a PH team <union> of course.
First, if you don't know what prop hunt is, check out the wiki [ http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/PropHunt ].
SourceOp, have a modified config, compared to the standard version on other servers out there.

Just wondering if there would be any interest in having a SourceOp Prop hunt league. maybe running through the duration of the year and around oct/nov the finals to determine a league winner for that year etc...

I know it would require some dedication to teams etc but if most teams have a good player base then it would work out.
THIS is Team based league idea.

    general comp ideas from me:

    10v10
International Competition (players from around the world).
points for win/loss recorded. maybe with stats...
    4 maps @ 18 mins each, 3 min rounds.
    no shows forfeit the win.
config based on current SourceOp PH except heavy minigun (shotty only).
Classes: Scout (props) & Pyro/Heavy(1) for seeking.
Days/Times would be a general time for all games. (research req'd)
General admins for the league would be neutral.
Dedicated servers for league games only, Bookable type. to keep public PH going of course.

I'm sure there would be more ideas, so please add them. 2012 is coming!!!
Also this would require a bit of dedication from SourceOp.
I'm also sure some team donations could help at the start of the year...

    Thoughts please.....

I'd love to see a Prophunt league that lasts maybe 3 months of the year. Though I fear that our maps aren't diverse enough to measure prophunt skill.

We'd need at least two new maps added in I think. Say we do 3 rounds up until quarter finals or something. Each team chooses a map and then the third round is on a new map.

And then another new map could be added into the finals rounds. Rambling, but this could be fun. As it is the SourceOP server is boring. It could use something new.

/rambling. I'll think more on this over the holidays.

    Yes. Really.

On topic: How would you measure wins? More kills? More rounds won? We both know with a good enough team current prop hunt devolves into racing to get the kills because red will never win. ;D

However, I'd be down for this is it happened.

This is better than your stupid ass hat trading.

While i've only played on the prop hunt a few times, and for short periods of time, it's not a bad server. It's a hell of a lot better than trading servers, and hell of a lot better than the 24/7 goldrush server.

    good stuff shooter.

Measuring the win is going to be the hard part.
There's many ways we can go about this.

If it were mixed teams, not just one 'clan' v another. There could be a chance to make the game a more even experience. But wouldn't promote real team bonding and match ups v other teams.

    round scoring...team based:
    Blue win = +1
Blue win 3 in row (domination) = +2
Blue dominates player = +1 per domination

    Red win = +1
Red win 3 in row (domination) = +2
Remaining red alive = +1 per survivor
Red Dominated player = +1 for revenge

3 maps, 3 min rounds, 18 min map

2 players would need to be a stats recorders, that way that's covered and we don't need to rely on computer based stats. 2 for the reason of getting accurate stats with no biased input. both stat'ers would be taking screenshots of per round scores.

Pseudocrats ideas, great input, map choice would need to be limited to selected maps per week i guess.
also the idea with new maps is a great idea, does this mean we need map makers on side?

I like the idea of a 3 month turnaround for the tournament. it would depend how many teams there are really.
