I've always used the old flamethrower. Air blast seems more useful to me than critting from behind.
I hated the +50 hp so much I refused to use the backburner. It made me feel like a hypocrite to use it because I constantly bitched about how gay backburner pyros were. lol
But now I'll use both of them, depending on the circumstances.
I wonder if anyone is using the fireaxe when they have the axtinguisher available.

Seems to me this is a case of not enough play testing. Now I'm left to wonder how 'amazing' the heavy is going to be for a month.
Wouldn't be surprised if his alternative main gun starts giving him +150 hp and doesn't require spinning, but only holds 100 ammo. Then it will end up as something along the lines of doesn't require spinning but you can only carry 50 ammo.

I don't use them, but I can tell you from experience the updated pyro takes more damage and gets plenty of front-facing back-stabs with the backburner.
The same people that were good with it before still are, but it's the new spam toy for everyone else.

I used regular shotgun and regular axe, but with this change, I'll now be using none of the unlockables.
I use the flare gun pretty frequently. Ill continue to use it. It comes in handy.
I just switch between the two flamethrowers.
