mod snip
technological stand point it's PC - MAC - PS3 - XBOX
gaming though is heavily opinionated so I'll stay away from that
MAC? WTF You mean... PC XBOX PS3 MAC
As far as I know there are not PS3's with 2 6-Core Intel Xeon processors.Originally Posted by mrmason

From my standpoint I would prefer an Apple computer over an Xbox or PS3 for gaming if it could be one of those fancy pants "could just get a PC for 1/3-10th of the price and install mac os on it" 'models'.
The downside of course being the price, lack of games, and image that comes along with owning an Apple computer.
From a
technological stand point
Technologically I find it far more interesting on what the "old" xbox360 hardware is able to achieve with optimized games. My point beeing, the xbox got what, released in 2005? And still, with basically the same specs, it renders well-enough results with current games.
Now, of course, you can't beat a pc with a xbox360, but thats not my point. I just find it interesting to see how much optimization for a specific platform helps in actually achieving decend framerates with effect that would usually take a better one. Actually, the end of a consoles lifecycle is one of the most interesting points, as you can be surprised in what the console is still able to achieve.
Fun Fact of the Week: Fifa 12 got released for the PS2
