I guess some people just literally think that being polite is not free today. If you're too busy; say you're too busy. However expecting to be paid to give a noob advice (regardless of how useful it may be in the long run) is terrible, period.
Edit: obviously you do care what atom has to say if you literally jumped on this thread the second I left. rofl!

No one is forcing you to PC bro, you seem to think your services are manditory. Being an admitted asshole and self centered is great an all, however just because you have sales, doesn't make you respectful and a pleasure to work with. I can't even count the repeat customers I have due to the level of respect I show others. For my design services and for my sales. If you feel there is no connection between being polite (EVEN IF YOU DON'T MAKE PROFIT) and making sales; I strongly suggest you look up anything on google in regards to small business ethics and customer service. =)
I think you're unfairly derailing the thread against Ikebot, and I think he has a point. I don't charge for price checks, but it seriously does get on my neres when that's all people use me for. I don't mind price-checking, especially since I admin for UTC and /r/tf2trade, so I do it a *lot*, but people who add me and don't even have the courtesty to tip me with friendly conversation are nothing but parasites. I tend to provide the first handful of price checks, but as each one gets more and more impatient, I tend to be less and less polite.
Hate on me if you like, but it is courteous to tip someone for services valuable to your benefit. I don't expect a dime for middlemanning or price-checking, but there are some people on my friends list who are more valuable to me as long-term friends because they don't just treat me like google.
