Computer illiteracy
From my experience as an IT help desk technician I can tell you the best ways to ruin people's day in most computer enviroments:
1. Press the insert key
A good chunk of people I've heard this happen to were banging their heads on their desk every time they went to fix a spelling mistake mid-paragraph and had to re-type the entire document. They tried calling tech support with inane descriptions like "IT WRITES OVER MY TEXT WITH I TYPE" and got answers like "Don't select text before you type."
2. Change the default paper size in Microsoft Word and adjusting the magnification instead of the paper size.
WHY CAN'T I HOLD ALL OF THIS IMPROPER FORMATTING?
3. Change their folder behavior
By trying to enable hidden files people can easily do inane things like making it so folders open up in a new window and making everything activate on single-click.
4. Making their mouse left-handed
Self-explanitory in itself, but people seem to do it on accident while changing the pointer speed.
5. Replace their mapped network drive with a 64mb partition with the same folder structure.
I don't even know how this kept happening.
6. Flipping their monitor upside down in their GPU settings
Some people just like to mash keys on their keyboad durring their lunches and activate all sorts of neat GPU hotkeys.
7. Turning their primary display off.
Yes I want to walk across a 19,000 square foot factory to unplug your monitor and plug it back in. How thoughtful.
8. Install tempermental visual basic programs with memory leaks that install network wide and open on startup.
I mean, they took a whole class at the community college on VB, that should qualify them to have full network administrator access to enable network-wide distributions of a program they wrote themselves, right? Wait, Everybodies computer is freezing every 15 minutes?
9. Restart a computer without the PS/2 components plugged in
Get it? It's funny.
10. Delete a goddamn network drive instead of simply disconnectnig from it.
