I mean, people could, but I'd say that'd be rare. Why? Because being gay isn't helpful when passing on genes... Therefore, being "born" (genetically speaking, at least) should be a rare occurrence.
My 2 cents.

one theory claims that the birth order affects birth rate because of the condition of the womb during development for children after the first one.Originally Posted by OmegaZero_Alpha
obviously there's nothing conclusive, but evidence seems to point towards the fact that genetics will give you a PREDISPOSITION to developing a certain sexuality. So no, people are not born gay, but they're born with certain factors that could influence homosexuality. It's a typical case of the nature vs nurture debate, and as is usually the case, it's a little bit of both.
as for being gay and its effect on passing on genes, I remember reading something about that, lemme see if I can dig it up...
But even a predisposition doesn't determine destiny. You could say that serial killers have genetic predispositions, but they weren't born a killer.
And I've yet to see an objective reason of why it is considered right. (read this knowing that I have nothing against gay people)

I'm gay. I have no clue if it was genetic, or something that came out of how I was raised, but it's really something that ISN'T easy to say "Born gay!" or "Became gay!" or whatever.
Came out of how I was raised = became gay.Originally Posted by Fides
It's not that simple.
True. I think I interpreted the OP's post as meaning that being gay has absolutely nothing to do with genetics, which I don't think is true.Originally Posted by OmegaZero_Alpha
