You are somewhat interpreting the results to fit your ideas, the study said that concentration is affected, mostly due to the fast paced nature of the show, the test could likely be repeated with a slower cartoon, with the children scoring higher.Originally Posted by OmegaZero_Alpha
Not only that, the blog says their unsure of any lasting effects, you seem to be claiming that 'watching one episode of spongebob lowers your iq permanently'
You seem to believe that stupid is automatically correlated with low IQ, and not a low functional intellect.
It has also been proven that intellectual stimulation increased functional intelligence, especially in a child's early development cycle. It isn't a far-fetched theory that the opposite will apply vice-versa.
Seeing as your posts don't seem to display much insight or intellect (I.E. you can't differentiate between THEY'RE and THEIR) and your avatar and signature are both related to said show, I can see that my theory that watching stupid shit through your developing years doesn't exactly yield and increased functioning intellect is somewhat correct.

Hmm, I ussually enjoy reading your arguments, however, in this case you resorted to a 'your wrong and I am right because you confused they're and their as well as having a retarded signature' argument. Its ok, Snarf uses that one all the time...I just...well, expected better...Originally Posted by OmegaZero_Alpha

Study had trash methodology. Very little functional variable control. I'd be suprised if anyone really drew conclusions on it. Debate FTW
Probably because the difference between these words is mastered in elementary school. If you struggle with basic english why should I care about your opinion? Let alone your argument regarding the IQ of small children.Originally Posted by hyden
Also sesame street is probably better for your children but I doubt there will be any significant difference between the two and spongebob is for an older agegroup anyways.
I was a commando you know.
Actually the central point was that the overall quality of his posts are akin to the worst corners of the gamefaqs bbs.Originally Posted by hyden
As for complaining about variable control in a study where the participants of each group were selected at random? What?
It's also a known phenominon that your learning enviroment as a child has a huge influence on late development. How is it hard to wrap your head around the fact that watching something that is purely mindless for large periods of time might adversely influence a childs development?
