but suppose somebody with lots of profile rep went rogue. had he had a SOP rep thread, then the account would have been banned and the rep thread could have been cleaned. instead, if the user privates his profile, then the positive rep can't be removed.
in addition, private profiles can comment on anyone's profile the same. how can you tell how old those accounts are? make screenshots private, mess with the name now and then, and a 2 wk old acc is just as good as a 2 year old acc.
a successful scammer has patience - it's doable EITHER way.

Datastorm took a shot at me and in reality its the SOP reps that have a no validity or means to check the reps of those making the posts.. i would say SOP reps are worthless ... but im not an idiot.

and its still fucking funny im being told my rep is worth 0 in light of trusted members here who have recently been caught pulling shady shit... .. i would think someone would be smart enough not to trade high dollar items with someone who has a private bp... 9 times out of 10 its hiding something..

Either way it can all be faked.. easily.. 100xs more easily than it can on a profile.. there is nothing linking the reps people post in SOP to anyone in steam.. take a lesson from some of the other trader sites that list profiles and backpacks with the people who post... otherwise the reps here have no validity

^ this... is exactly why i didn't like you. You seem to treat everyone against you or with different opinions with no respect whatsoever.

Although i do respect you for being a legit member of this community and for being a great collector. You cant just say this like your the king and sourceop is nothing, and has "no rep validity".

I do agree with datastorm and daem0n about the rep issue. For example sourceop rep threads require your steam profile link inside so no one can use it for themselves. To put fake comments in a SOP rep page is hard especially trying to impersonate someone who left a rep with number of posts, avatar, sigs and name. With steam accounts i have seen scammer's profiles rep'ing themselves and to impersonate a rep on steam is much easier, just putting the name and avatar and copying the rep word for word.

Not only this but in SOP you have dedicated admins who constantly check threads and lock them if they are scammers or breaking the rules like (no steam id on a rep page)

Steam comments do count in seeing if someone is trusty, but depends on number and value.

That is exactly what i mean.. most folks who arent familiar with SOP have no clue they link back at the first post.. you dont see imposters linking to a steam profile that doesnt belong to them because you can just click on that individuals avatar and see who you are dealing with... however as we all know they create fake profiles and link to SOP reps that dont belong to them

and yes...if u look at the numbers in a profile u can see when something looks suspicious.. but again....even i had to be schooled on these things... and anyone who deals with a person whos profile is private is just asking for trouble
