    Lag on SourceOP

I play TF2 every night. I've never had a problem except for the last 3 weeks. Everytime I join it lags a lot. I paid money to SourceOP, and it still lags. I have to reset 5 to 7 times just to get the server to work. What's going on with this? A lot of people are having this problem who are regulars, and it needs a solution. I love playing on this server but we need a solution. Hurry Up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How could you honestly expect that any troubleshooting could be done with the information you provided. At least provide your ip address and a traceroute to the server.

I do not admin any of the sourceop servers, nor do I give a rats ass that you even play on them. It just irks me to see a post like that.

Last night I was doing a lot of maintenance on the servers. That could be the reason. If it's still happening, let me know and I will look into it.

Also, what server do you play?

If you don't give a rats ass, then don't respond to me you douche with your 6 posts, thanks for the help...

ANYWAY, hi drunken, it's still happening to me. It's the 24 hour 2 Fort server, 74.54.24.200. I think some other people are having trouble too. Someone said that there was some guy hacking on the server about a month and a half ago and ever since then it started to lag for me. Any help would be cool and let me know if you need more info!! Thanks.

Speedily, if you would please run a traceroute from your computer to the server it would help alot in determining the source of your lag. It's not necessarily the connection or even the plugin that may be causing lag.

I know this is an overused fix but it helps me out when other online games through steam lag me. Delete your blob files, restart your comp and try again. You'd be amazed how many times this simple thing helps.

On another note, and I am probably overstepping my bounds, please try to be a little more corteous even if someone is rude to you. He did bring up a valid point that a tracert would be benificial.

A traceroute would be nice. It could just be that the server box needs a restart.

    10 56 ms 57 ms 56 ms c8.18.364a.static.theplanet.com [74.54.24.200]

    Trace complete.

I also pinged the server too:

Please let me know if this helps, I'm not sure what it all means. Thanks!

It doesn't help because your router is blocking the trace. How about the results of 100 pings (e.g. ping -n 100 74.54.24.200)?
