uggh
why does the auto-join server option and connect console command for using reserve slots first disconnects you from the server you are playing on and then tells you that the server is full. uggghhh. HATE it.

This happens because it sees a slot open on the server and has to disconnect you from the current server before making a connection to the new server. Then someone else connected and took the open slot in the time it took for you to disconnect and start a new connection.
If this is a sourceop server you are trying to connect to, I would recommend donating to get a reserved slot and then you don't ever have to wait to get into the server and you won't get kicked to make room for a reserved slot.
I don't know who you should send it to though, DF or the new guy... and what is going to happen to existing reserved slots?
Only other way to get into the server faster is instead of playing on another while you wait, turn on auto-join and click refresh every 5 seconds. Don't spam it or it'll ignore you for a short amount of time. Cross your fingers that someone quits shortly so you don't spend too long refreshing. If you have a friend with a reserved slot, he can also disconnect to give you his slot, and then he rejoins and boots another player... lol.
