How to include a new CS:S map?

    Hi People.

I couldn't find a tutorial for including new CS:S maps to be manage by SourceOP.

SourceOP is working fine in my server, it opens the map overlay pic, but the players stay at the same place. Usualy, all of them stay at the CT base.

What I need to do to get them moving like in other maps?

    Regards,

    Dakaill.

Huh? Are you talking about the 2d map overview? Are you trying to get it to show the map image?

You will need to follow the instructions here for making the image:
    http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Level_Overviews

And then for the map text file you put the scale, pos_x, and pos_y values.

    I've almost got it.

    Hi Drunken_F00l.

    Your advice was great!.

However, I lost my 15th November, holiday in Brazil, studying the document you mentioned and many other indicated on the first one.

I've learnt a lot about building the VTF and VMT files for overviews.

Now, my main problem is to adjust the players' movement around on the map. I think I'd made something wrong. Sometimes they are very well placed on the path, sometimes they are a bit out off the path. I mean, the player is in the middle of a wall, or a mountain, or a river and so on.

But, I will learn how to adjust everything on the right place.

If you have a new tip. I'd love to hear about it.

I'll expend some more time testing on other maps that SourceOP doesn't has as a default.

    Thanks,

    Dakaill

Your image must be 1024x1024 without any scaling, otherwise you will run into issues like you said. To do this, run in 1280x1024 resolution and just clip everything to the right after the 1024th pixel when saving to jpg (canvas size in photoshop with topleft as the anchor).

You must also use the scale, pos_x, and pos_y that shows in your console just before you took the screenshot. You must be standing still (preferably noclipped) so you get a steady reading.

    PK! I'll try it.

    Thanks again,

    Dakaill.
