    Windows Vista

Haven't even installed it yet, but when I do I am pretty sure I can fill this thread a couple of times over.

Great, it won't even install. It refuses to boot like an actual disk and proceeds in pissing off XP with it's buggy ass menus, which miraculously take up 100% of my Q6600 and all 4gigs of my ram... I guess my high-end gaming PC isn't powerful enough to even install this software marvel. I think I will use my dvd-overburner (a DVD burner program modified to burn random shit over existing-shit, destroying the disk) and returning the disk, just to stick it to M$... then proceed in installing it when I get my new copy

Installed and running... barely... All of my drivers are written for XP, and guess which operating system Vista miraculously can't accept drivers from?\

dell has no vista drivers for some fucking reason... which is what i'm stuck with until I can pony up for a new motherboard, case and cooler...

OH MY GOD, I just said that I had my Q6600 again... I keep forgetting that I don't actually get it until the 21st... I am still going off of this old POS 3.8GHZ that I have overclocked to 4ghz (am overclocking again now that I have an operating system that can actually handle over 4ghz without being all like NNNNOOOO WWWAAYYYY, PROCESSORS CAN"T BE OVER 2GHZ!!!!!!)

I still haven't figured out why my ram won't show up as 4 gigs, though. Every program sees it as 4gigs except for windowsXP and windowsVISTA... who see it as 2.5 gigs.

PLUS, I don't like vista talking shit about my video card. like, OH, It is a 5.8 for video games, but our power-eating vista-aero bullshit only runs at a 3.9.. SO YOUR SCORE IS 3.9!!!!! seriously, if you can design a default user interface that takes more resources than CRYSIS, you are a fuck-tard...

It's because you have a 32-bit OS. 32-bit means you have an addressing space of 4GB. However, some devices such as your video card share this addressing space. Therefore, the max amount of RAM you can have is lower than 4GB and typically in the 3.2-3.5GB range. I haven't seen it as low as 2.5GB before.

I'm pretty sure there's some hack that can let windows address it all... but I don't really remember any more than some vague recollection that they made one to that effect.
