    I'm building a new computer...

When i realized that i was about to spend another 200$ on another PSP, i said to myself. 200$ is enough to start an new computer! then i promptly punched the nearest best buy employee in the face and ran home to newegg. So far i have the case and the mobo ordered:

case Cases must be gynormous, therefore i got the 3.7ft tall 30lb bastard seen here. My computer must be at least 75lb, or i fail at building.

Mobo I havent actually ordered this yet, i don't know if it has enough ports to fill my case.
    and now im broke >.<

no point in getting a case that big.

agreed, only get a case as big as you will use, or it's just waisted space

well lest start at the basics, you should never have more then 2 Hard drives, also i would suggest only get 1 DVD burner, and 1 DVD-ROM, second, don't even get zip disk/floppy disk drive, usb flash is way better, past that you only got to worry about card space, and a standard case should have plenty unless you plan to use like 7 monitors, 3 sound systems, and 5 networks, which is just totally ridiculous, in to end don't get what you don't need, like a bread maker, no one needs a bread maker, I'm sure if they get it they will use it 4 maybe 5 times, but they don't need it

i've been building computers for 5 years, i already have this all planned out.

I am going to get a 15000rpm 30-40gb scsi as my first drive, with a 500gb sata 3gb/s as my second drive (in addition with my existing 300gb and 80gb card).

I don't have a mobo picked out yet, but i would prefer:
    -2 pci-express 16x
    -2pci express 4x
    -4 pci slots
    -4+ ram slots
    -2 IDE ports, 4+sata ports
    -k9 ready (i wanna go quad-core)

I am going for the dual-video card approach, a 1gig for video editing, autocad , rendering etc and another one for gaming,

of course, this will be built over a LONG period of time, but it will be pretty damn powerful when it is done. (i will keep upgrading it to keep it top-of-the-line, too)

that is 2 vid cards and room for 5 PCI-slots... all for the low-low price of 139.99!!!

That still leaves me room for the scsi-card in the PCIe-4 slot

If your going to with the new DX10 cards like the 8800, then your only going to get 2 PCI slots. Each card takes up the space of 2 slots.
