my best friend has new pc with dual 8800's and 8 gigs of ram WTF

that would be horrible gaming. there is no non-server mobo that has sufficient front-side-bus for 8 gigs. it would be GREAT for video rendering, but it would turn into the same thing as those 1-gig video cards (you could run one copy of the game and get 25-30fps, or run 5 copies and get 25-30fps)
