    Most laptops don't even have a graphics card to turn off. If you look at a graphics card for a desktop, it is an actual chip that you put in. It is big. It usually has it's own fan. A graphics card is thicker than most notebooks.

    Yes, some very expensive laptops have graphics cards. At the same time, they have about 30 minutes battery life. The OP's laptop probably doesn't have a graphics card, only a chipset AKA integrated.

    I think anyone who has ever used a computer could tell you that. Also laptops with dedicated graphics cards usually have better power supplies to compensate for it otherwise it would be pointless to even have the laptop.
