***ALERT STEAM ACCOUNT HACKS*** - Mr. Plow Compromised atm..

    Hey all,
I just got a steam IM from mr. plow linking to the site:
    hxxp://steamcommunityequipe.awardspace.us/
(changed http to hxxp so no one clicks and goes there by accident)

This is a hacker spoof site that steals steam account info - DO NOT GO THERE. Currently mr.plow's account is being used by a hacker (his current name is VENOM AKE. If anyone knows plow, please let him know whats happening to his account.

The better idea is not to link to it at all, since some people are just curious or stupid.

Whoever got into his account removed me after my witty comments

Also sent an invite to a Steam group as well.

afaik these sites cannot steal anything from you unless you're stupid and enter in your username and password otherwise it's a pretty bad Steam vulnerability.

    Exactly!

I think Steam (Valve) is a wonderful company! I wonder how many account recovery requests they get on a daily basis? They help individuals who were basically trying to get out of paying for product to recover their accounts.

You may get by with pirating that cool game outside of Steam but realize there is NO code to get all the Steam games unlocked and if by chance someone stumbles upon a "code, hack, etc." valve will quickly patch it. Also, free games are advertised on their community homepage. Any free games from Steam listed on another page should not be trusted especially if you have to enter your username and password.

This particular case was just a steam community spoof site... not someone trying to get out of paying for their products...

I told plow how stupid he was for falling for that, he probably was either drunk or sleepy or both... Hes lucky that wasnt his bank account.

First time I have heard of a steam community spoof site but I am not shocked. For a while there I was getting "free game here" just enter in your account info. on a weekly basis.
