UR MOMS A TORRENT, AHAHAHAHAHAHA... that was lame.

okay... lets explain this...

a torrent is a fole that, when activated, starts downloading a series of other files inside of the app that activated it. (keeping it simple, you download a file that tells a program where to download more files)

the most recognizable features about torrents are how easy they are to use, the quickness of which you can download mass ammounts of data, the ablility to find rare files, and their advaned hashing methods that help to ensure you dont downlaod files multiple times.

the download method of torrents makes it really efficient. you see, instead of donwloading the peices of the files in order, it downloads the peices that are avialiable.

lets look at it this way, lets say numbers one through five are users, and letters [A]-[E] are each equal peices of a 50mb files.

lets say this:

user 1 has peices [A] and [b] [c]

user 2 has [a]

user 3 had [a] [b] [c] [d] [e]

you are user 4

in a conventional downloading system you would download it like this:

user 1 2 and 3 give you peice [a]

then user 1 and 3 give you peice [b]

then the same for [c] and [d]

finally user 4 gives you [e]

but in a torrent:

you download [a] at full speed, but instead of waiting to get peice [b] is is already being aquired by users 1 and 3, along with [c] and [d], even whille getting [e] from 4 whille your waiting for [c] and [d], which are potentially the slowest to download (allowing you extra bandwidth to download [e])
