Oh no, that is so horrible. Soldiers killing armed men who weren't wearing a uniform or any indication that they aren't hostile in the middle of an insurgency is so shocking!

I am appalled to learn that the same guns that we hand our children are being used in such an ignoble way!

I forgot about how easy it is to distinguish between hostile and non hostile actions in the middle of a battlefield at long distances when you are under extreme amounts of stress for long stretches of time.

I watched the video and haven't seen any provocation from the side of so-called "insurgents". This was clearly bad judgment on the side of the US Army. And later, the attempt to cover up the story is simply sickening.

It is easy to say this in hindsight from the safety of your computer desk.

And shooting those people who were picking up the wounded? Come on.

You shoot somebody because you thought they were armed. You have been trained for weeks to treat anybody hostile until proven otherwise.

They reach down to about where this perceived gun would fall.

I probably would have fired, too.
