Im only wondering about posting rep not actually trading the items as the trades were not on this site. Pretty much just wondering if we buy items not specific to this site but a trustworthy trade still took place if posting rep for that trade would be acceptable. sorry if thats unclear.
*Don't sell items outside of source/steam/TF2 (ex. cars, shoes, cellphones).
Cars, shoes, cellphones are only examples, if it does not involve steam trade, it does not fall under this rule.
-Rep should only be left for trades that comply with SOP trading policy.
Since it then would not fall under sop trading policy, giving and or receiving rep for such a transaction is prohibited.

Probably overthinking with this question but it's safer to ask. Since I'm slowly building rep and I'm making friends who are whales like me, it could happen.

If I were to ever silently represent a repless friend in a purchase, like I buy an unusual that they want from a seller. The seller and I trade rep like usual.
Then I go and "sell" it to the friend without profiting or anything.
Would it be inappropriate to swap SOP rep with the friend? It's kind of like being a middleman, just a different purchase flow. Maybe it's called a "proxy"?

(I might actually bring a couple people over to the "dark side" in time seems I'm not the only one who is sick of gambling on crates)

[if it's important to the question, no I haven't met these people IRL, but I do trust them]

Seems unnecessary if your brokering on behalf of someone you know very well, same par imo as a rep for selling a single ref, maybe some feedback form sky/pete will sway that one, but as is, does not break any rules.

You are basically a broker. although you are not charging the rep-less friend anything, you are still making purchases for them. You can't exchange rep because you and your friend are trading and not actually making any sales transactions. I would just have the friend start off small and build their rep like everyone else.

If we made all rep RWC only, that would eliminate a lot of those types of reps, maybe add a set floor aswell to prevent the "+rep 1 refined" postings

Was wondering if this is okay to post this in TF2 Buying/Selling Forum.

I seen someone a few weeks ago accepting Amazon GC on their thread, but I want to create a thread buying Refs, Keys, or a bill's hat with my Amazon GC/iTunes card, its just that I think it might go against Trade Rule #2 (Don't sell accounts (steam or any other). Gifting games through steam is ok, CD key, activation code, steam wallet code selling is not.)

So I was wondering if its okay to create this type of thread, or not?

(Just wanted to make sure, and Thank you for anyone that response back.)

    already addressed in the rules,

"*Don't sell items outside of source/steam/TF2 (ex. cars, shoes, cellphones)."

Is this the proper place to ask for my (very old) rep thread to be moved to the proper rep thread location? The existing thread is @ http://forums.sourceop.com/threads/13711-octo-dhd-rep which is the tf2 item category. If this isn't the right spot, can you point me to the correct spot?
