my rep thread got locked in item buying/selling. idk why because it just got locked and ive had it for a while.

rep threads did belong in trade chat, never in buy/sell, you missed the boat on having it moved, we let that door open for 3 months last fall, all new ones (when the section is unlocked) will belong in the rep section,

Side note to all:
Due to changes in steamrep policy about caution tags, SourceOP now has a "probation" tag displayed below a users name if the user is close to being permanently banned for any number of reasons too numerous to list. Its not specific to trading or if they have a steam probation, but more of a general forum warning that they are very close to being permanently banned as opposed to getting a long temp ban. Should not affect the 99% of you tho, the people who have them know exactly why and I'm going to leave it at that.

*Don't create multiple threads. Close your old threads before creating a new one. Threads will be locked.

Is it allowed to create more than 1 thread for different purposes, like one for buying and another for selling?

Sure. Just make sure you don't create too many threads to where it becomes a problem.

Would selling tf2 items for bitcoins run afoul of the rule against trading for trading for things outside of sorce/tf2/steam? Bit coins are a currency just like USD or Euro, but due to there unique nature I wanted to check with the admins before I went ahead with it.

mod edit: you should be fine as its considered an "established currency"

Hi, I have a question.

In the rules it says:

*Don't sell items outside of source/steam/TF2 (ex. cars, shoes, cellphones).

Is it legit if I want to sell some items for a $10 Gift Card? Am I able to make this thread without it being deleted and stuff? Thanks!

EDIT: I don't think it can be any clearer. A gift card has nothing to do with source/steam/tf2 and therefore it is not allowed. DF was very specific about not wanting items outside of tf2 being sold. Try ebay/craigslist.

We plan on making some minor adjustments in the next week or so.

• -Rules: centralize all the site rules in one thread, minor rule adjustments.
  -Reorganize the trading section: The tf2items section is now a de-facto trade section, might as well make it permanent.
  -How we deal with issues: Since we do not have the ability for a report button, the next best thing is a reporting thread (will work similar to how the locked rep thread, thread works)
  -Create an "index" thread: Consolidate existing sticky, announcement and other threads of interest.
  -Add Dota2 trade section

Great idea about centralizing the rules. I think we should do a Rules section where members can also find the server rules as well. Makes it a lot easier.
