Yeah, it's baffling how clueless-ness and general incompetence as an authoritative figure who's supposed to be professional can piss people off.

You seem like a reasonable person. Please define said incompetence, as all I see is people getting slapped for not following the rules.
Maybe a clear statement would help me, and most importantly Eram understand what actually annoys people. All I see is him being a moderator to actually enforce the rules and it worked good as for keeping shites out of the forums so far(disregarding the standart-quality of SPUF, which just so happens to be terrible).

The things that have been shown to me were him permanently banning people who disagree with him for minor infractions, and then subsequently ignoring larger infractions by people who agree with him. And by agreeing I am, of course, referring to both in the topic of discussion and in general.

This screamed to me "I have no place in any authoritative position please remove my moderator status."

But this also says to me that it isn't entirely his fault. Most people given free and unquestionable reign of any community will show signs of abuse of that power. It's just that I've yet to see this guy be mentioned without it being about him banning somebody simply for stating an opinion that contrasted his, and I have seen absolutely nothing even hinting that he has to answer for anything he does.

Moderators like these are also the reason that SPUF is widely regarded as a shit-hole, they actively ban anybody attempting intelligent conversation while letting shit-posters slide. There is a huge sociology discourse I could give as to why this happens, but the problem in its entirety hardly relevant to this one moderator and the SPUF are beyond help.

Also I last looked at this case when this thread was almost brand new, so his current behavior could contrast his past behavior greatly. It would be welcome news to me.

Sounds entirely reasonable on paper, but how many of these cases are like they were displayed here is questionable.
While Eram may surely be one of those mods that ban rather quickly if you act up, he usually(from my past experience in questioning my own infractions) to reason if reason is given.

While this only reflects my experience with the person known as Eram, all the complaints I personally have read on SPUF about him are unreasonable, such as blaming Eram for certain rules, when he is a VOLUNTEER moderator and does not make rules.

I may seem like an Eram fanboy here but what I detest are liars who make up false claims to disguise their breaking of the rules(such as the admittedly ridiculous bump rule). Rules are there to be read, the moderator shouldnt have to explain himself to people and if his descisions were so terrible, VALVe would have parted ways with him long ago.

The cases I've seen he didn't even try and justify his behavior, he simply looked at extremely reasonable doubts about his judgment and replied with the likes of "U MAD", which for his position is worse than an admission of guilt.

And it's like these people have said, you can't talk about it there in any way because he'll instantly delete your post and ban you. Which is the definition of acting guilty.

Even when he came here his attitude was "What are you going to do about it" instead of "This is why I took this action".

Absolutely fair enough for me. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, mine being that Eram is doing his job well, as I never had a conflict with him. I will try to get him to read this eventually, as I doubt he would have anything to hide.

Turns out the Eram who posted on SoP was a fake, confirmed by the real Eram right now. He did read the thread but has never registered here on SourceOP.
Also, the admins at Steam have full insight into moderation actions taken. If Eram was doing his job as described here, they would have talked to him about it.

00:07 - Er?m: we talk quite a lot the admins and the mods
00:07 - Er?m: and every post is still there, we dont hard delete anything
00:07 - Er?m: so the admins can see anything that "we try to hide"
00:08 - Er?m: also, in vb forums , if a post is hard deleted then a record is still made to say a post from such and such is hard deleted
00:11 - Er?m: 3rd party sites for trading was always meant to be the way

I agree with this post. Here why i think this Eram dude does not know what he's doing. Here's my story.

Well I was posting up a trade on steam trading forums, saying I have xx keys
and i want xx steam wallet in return. He then decides to close my trade and this was his explanation and i quote " You can't enter steam wallet into the trade window". Well no effing sh!@ Sherlock, of course I DIDN'T KNOW THAT. Obviously this guy doesn't know what he's talking about and decided to close my trade for a stupid reason.

It might have helped if you clarified what you meant within your trade, or simply said "Buying Games from Steam with TF2 Items".
