It starts pretty quick. That's about as far as IE 8 goes in regards to "quick."

Meh, my vista installation got pretty slow, too. And I was on a Pentium 3 laptop while it was installing.

I've been thinking about getting it.

There's a web site where you can get it home or business 32 or 64 bit if you have a valid .edu address for $30.00. I think it was digital river or something like that.

It's somewhere on consumerist.com, but I think if there was any trouble, they were a huge hassle to deal with.

I like it, but I wouldn't stand for not having Ultimate. Holy fuck I am loving XP mode, I used to dual boot vista and 32-bit xp and now they are hap-hazardly crammed together in different shells and I think they did a great job.

plus it seems that they are handing out free access to their ass-rapingly fast servers to give you a copy:

EDIT: For some reason I got the impression that XP mode was a second shell that ran next to your regular operating system to run XP apps and make it feel like you are running them natively. Turns out its Virtual PC with better hardware compatability...

Havent installed it on my own pc yet but going to. I've got Enterprise edition since I've still got friends going to college and my college gives everyone a free copy by online download. Took awhile to install on brothers comp though since it turned out the download kept messing up initially but then acting like it was fine until youd try to instal and it would request the cd/dvd drivers. (So if that happens to you, redownload).

Ah and we ended up using the usb method:

I Would have done that except some motherboards decide they don't like that and I didn't remember if my motherboard did or not.

I need to build a new gaming computer before I upgrade to Windows 7.

Then turn my old computer into an NFS with raid 5.

I really want to do this as a novelty item for my office, but also so I won't have to ever worry about dust.
