Kritz or Uber?

I didn't make it a poll because it doesn't give me your real opinion on the matter.

My personal feelings are, why uber when you can kritz and still get the job done. Plus I think its way more fun. I mean with a regular uber and your up against an sg, its just so annoying trying to get in the right position to giblet the engy so you can kill the sg which usually wastes most of the uber if not all. Whereas with kritz you just giblet the engy from the get go and side step kill the SG and anyone else who's dumb enough to stand in front of you. (im talking soldier but give opinions on any class) (this is also really on 2fort because I'm not leet enough to get ubers/kritz on the cp/payload maps, well at least i got a few on the non crit serv today but thats another story)

It's just all situational. As a rough rule you want kritz while defending and uber while pushing. Essentially uber anywhere the other team has set up a heavy defense where youd expect to die the moment you stepped out. Kritz everywhere else and for when you know you can step out into that defense of theres without dying instantly

What Ranma said, mostly. There are a ton of factors to consider when moving beyond that scenario - how you play, how well you're playing that day, the type of teammates you have, the short term goal of the map, the long term goal, if you're looking at pushing through bodies or entrenchments, what the class make up is on both teams

For me, the things I generally look at the most are the: Terrain - ie, defending dustbowl 3-2, unless you're pushed to the point, kritz is almost always amazing; Attitude: Aggressive teams make better use of kritz than non-aggressive teams; Class makeup - if there are 4 scouts, 3 snipers, 3 spies, 4 pyro's, that kritz is going to do way less for you than an uber.

That said, almost every single 'rule' for being a medic evolves like this (really true for every class, but it seems like there are more 'hard rules' floating around for what is supposed to constitute a 'good medic':

Action A is awesome, I'll do it all the time either intentionally or unintentionally!
Only bad medics do Action A, so I won't do it!
Really good medics avoid Action A, but know when to do it anyway.

In short, grab whatever gun is going to make you win. If you're in doubt, go with the normal uber

it's too easy to counter uber and it's usually a waste if you don't get random crits at the same time.

a good kritz can work on both offense and defense, ive used it on offense and its done a great job clearing out enemies.

Uber only for me since I'm too lazy to swap weapons while I'm respawning. Besides, switching weapons during respawn cuts into my mini-break when i down my beer.
