No particular order and more than five because I can't pick just five.

Any Valve Game (except L4D, it's good but not great)
    Any Blizzard game
    Company of Heroes
    Age of Empires II
    Thief
    Original Rainbow six games
    UT/Quake

    1)Fallout:
The game that really kindled my love of PC gaming. This superb rpg will always be the golden number one for me.

    2)Fallout 2:
Continuing on the brilliant premise set by the original, this one expanded everything from gameplay choices to storyline. RIP BlackIsle.

    3)Tribes 2:
My first online fps, I got really into one of the custom mods called 'Heavy Metal'

4)Star Wars Rise in Power (MUD):
All MMOs are based on a MUD skeleton. The difference is that modern MMOs are limited to what they can display on the screen whereas you were able to do so many more amazing things in a text based game since it relied on your IMAGINATION.

5)Any game made by BlackIsle or the companies derived from (Trokia, Obsidian for Arcanum, Vampire Bloodlines, Planescape, KotR, ect...)

    Honorable mentions:
    TF2
    Warcraft 2
Warcraft 3 custom games (DotA classic, DotA allstars, Sheep Tag)
    Diablo 2
Vanguard City of Heroes - This MMO had amazing potential but failed horribly
    Duke Nukem 3d
    Dungeon Keeper

    1) Deus Ex
    Best game ever. Period.
PS, if anyone played this, if I told you my handle, you'd know who I am. I was the best in the world for a couple of years. (No joke )

    2) World of Warcraft
What dude above me said. I was in a very high end guild at one point. Being one of the best at a game so many play is very satisfying.

    3) Call of Duty 4
Innovative. Balanced. Beautiful. Great competitive scene.

    4) Team Fortess 2
Blame GetThere1Time for my love of this game. He's a dicksucker.

    5) Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
It's so simple. It's so balanced. Was also my first "clan" based competitive game. Many, many good memories. Also got me a trip to Scotland to hang out with the clan I played with back in those days. Imagine the look on my mother's face when I told her a bunch of 20+ year old guys are gonna fly me to the other side of the world to meet them. (I was 16. ) She was reluctant, but god damnit, it was fun!

    In no particular order:

    a) TF2. It's kind of funny - TF2 is basically a combination of all kinds of things I normally feel either pretty neutral about or hate (it's the only online 'shooter' I play). And yet, it's been one of my go to time killers/stress relievers since beta.

    b) Giants: Citizen Kabuto. There was room for improvement with this game, by a lot, actually. But the overall gameplay and design will have me forever mourning that we'll never see a sequel/remake.

    c) Baldur's Gate II - Hands down the best hack and slash RPG ever brought to a game.

    d) System Shock 2 - Cliche maybe. But damn, few games have been so good when they were released.

    e) Diablo 2 - getting dated fast in my opinion (in fact, I stopped being able to enjoy it a fair bit ago), but absolutely brilliant.

    honorable mentions:

Beyond Good and Evil - excluded solely because it was primarily marketed to consoles. One of the best examples of game design ever made.

Total Annihilation - Dune 2 gets a lot of (rightful) credit on the RTS front, and even C&C gets some. But TA showed what forethought and polish could do to the design of RTS, and it's also one of the few games that is an RTS as much as it's an RTT.

Half Life - amazingly new immersive story telling. nuff said.

Planescape: Torment - This game reminds me some of Fallout, in the way that they threw out a lot of conventions and said "No. It's going to be great our way." and it was.

Privateer - As much as I played Tie Fighter, this was the better game at the end of the day (if not the better space combat sim).

Bard's Tale - Sup graph paper.
