I believe 400 ping is where the servers are set to auto-kick (DF can confirm). Below that, you have the option to votekick if the lagging is a real problem.

in the interest of fairness it would be preferable that lag be capped at about 150, 150 and above is the range in which lag and lag compensation begins to give an unfair advantage to snipers, pyros and spies.

soldiers are worse, when they skip around it's impossible to juggle them, and they'll suddenly appear behind you from around corners
