Is there any chance of changing this policy about bumping threads? I was on UHC forums and I've gotten admit it's quite a relief to browse a forum which doesn't have these threads constantly being spammed by the OP to try and keep it on the front page.
It's a real eyesore. We have users who are bumping threads every few minutes. Having to flip through multiple pages of spam just to see what has been offered in a sales thread is just ridiculous.
Could we either put a cap on "bumping threads" or just not allow it? Perhaps allow a thread to be bumped only once every 12 or 24 hrs?
Please discuss. :?

The only place people bump threads are in forum sections that are incurably stupid anyway.
It's like putting a band-aid on a tumor.

i think a limit should be helpful. The no bump rule at UHC is stupid in my honest opinion. maybe two bumps a day is better. it can be easily moderated, i would know since that's my job here. i can easily monitor a thread with a two bump limit per day.

I think that consecutive posts from the same user shouldn't bump a post.

maybe any more then 3 posts in a row does not bump a thread.
or a bump limit of idk, no more than once every 6 hours. (intentionally being liberal on limits to make ideas more workable/practical)
Thanks.

ok for starters we will go to a one bump per hour policy. if that doesnt work we will go to a bump every 3 hours, then 1 bump a day. thanks for all the input guys. and thanks OP Teckkers and Fusion for bringing this up. Who said we don't listen here at SourceOP?
