To be fairly honest I don't know if it does much, however my laptop fan goes quiet after I run it and goes back to being loud and obnoxious in a month's time again. Maybe it does help take out crap and strain dunno. Thought I'd share it with everyone.

these programs hurt more than they help as most of the performance increases are very minimal or nonexistent (<1%) and they use up read/write cycles, resources etc. seeing as registry errors are usually only a few bytes themselves, it'd barely even speed up your computer unless you had millions of registry errors (that'd only affect your ram anyways)
