    Speed Pads/Game Pads

I've come to the realization that my father and I seem to be the only people that use Speed Pads while gaming. I was just curious if anyone here might use one. I use a Nostromo n50 Speed Pad by Belkin.

Anyone else use something along the lines of this instead of a keyboard?

I had one of these for about two days... was too small for my hands. \0= I'm finding it harder and harder to find a decent keyboard with the right button setup and spacing.

Wow. That looks like it would even be too small for my hands. Nostromo Speed Pads do well, if you're looking for a good setup. I've had the chance to mess around with an n52 as well. It has more keys and it's a little larger than the n50 I have. You should try one out.

Oh, try one of these, too. They're about the same as a Nostromo, but the setup's a bit different. It's an ErgoMedia 500 Gaming Pad.

The keys on this also light up in the dark. It has a headphone and a microphone jack. A little smaller and more comfortable than a Nostromo, but it supports less keys.

I got a speed pad, used it for a few days, then put it aside. Wife stole it and likes it a lot though.

I thought the action on the buttons, especially the thumb side, was...not good.

They're used in place of the different keys for foward, backward, left, right, crouch, etc.

Never saw the point to them, really. I like having a billion keys for whatever I want.

Personally, I use a logitech G15 keyboard, and a Logitech G5 mouse. Balling out of control, yo.

I've never tried one out, but I think I'm too accustomed to using the whole keyboard. I have every key on my keyboard bound to do something.
