I shall call it a flop until I see that they're not abandoning Left 4 Dead.

Waiting till it's at least 20 bucks, then i might buy it. Other than that, they can keep that sh*t.

    eh.

I feel kind of split. I enjoyed L4D very much and the thing that ultimately made it less interesting for me was the thing that made it most interesting. Relying on other people to get you through the game. If you're with competent people ... the game is a blast. It's a shame thats only 10% of the time. On a good day. I don't think my brain could take much more of it.

I'm not seeing a whole lot of L4D2 that I find interesting enough for me to WANT to buy it. The new characters seem kind of shallow and lack any emotion to me. If you've seen the game play videos, the animations on a lot of things seem ... off. The levels don't seem nearly as interesting to me. The new incidenary rounds seem like a gimmick to me. The new weapons that I've seen don't sound that impressive to me. It seemed like to hold a melee weapon, it took priority over every thing else; to switch weapons, it seemed like you had to drop it. I am kind of on the fence about day light game play. The new SI that I've seen doesn't seem to fit the game to me, seems out of place and doesn't have that 'wow' factor the others do. A lot of the zombies seemed to have ... uh .. 'special issues' with regards to a chair being able to stop them. I saw that a lot in L4D .. but L4D2 is supposed to have this director 2.0 that makes things so much better ... nothing really seemed 'better' from what I saw.

I'm sure the game will improve a lot between now and when it is released ... I guess the main thing that will effect my decision to buy it if it integrates with L4D at all. I'd like it to be an expansion, where I can use all the new stuff in old levels and all the old stuff in new levels. If its a completely new game, I think it will end up splitting whats left of the community. I'm not going to be troubled with trying to choose if I want to play with a shotgun or some new rifle or between Zoey and some fat dude and loading the appropriate game. It's dumb.

A lot of games have sequels but most of them come years after the first ones have time to either obtain or come close to "Classics".

Valve is really just pissing people off by trying to release L4D 2 a year after the original.

The biggest complaint is that they promised a lot that they didn't deliver on. They STILL haven't delivered a lot of what they said was going to be released when it went live.

You can't begin to make a sequel to an incomplete game. Just my opinion though.

Are we writing novels about L4D now? Ha.

But the actual problem, Versed, is that it wasn't approved by the people who made the first L4D. It was made by a separate branch of Valve who got with EA Games in order to make it.

I know the ValvEA corp is pissing people off but they're still letting an original hang. With production of the second game the first one (even if the team is willing) won't get as many resources to work on it.

I'm just pissed that I spent $50 on something that is going to be abandoned for another game with the same concept, also costing $50. Of course I'm not going to pay for it. They should've made an expansion, not a sequal. Of course, EA is known for making expensive sequals instead of expansions.

    Curse them.
