hlxstatx points mean a little something. If you're good, logically points will eventually come to you as any class, but higher hlx points don't mean you're better. hlxstatsx is a broken ass system as it is.

First things first, it encourages playing like a complete vag. JumpInTheFire is obviously the poster boy for this. Focus is on KD the idea is to put yourself in as little danger as possible while doing as much damage possible. While this isn't the worst way to play, it isn't the best either, and it certainly doesn't mean you have any skill.

When I started playing TF2 and knew nothing about the game, I hopped on the game, plopped down on the 24/7 2fort server, and started checking out this hlxstats thing. I thought it was awesome that in a public server I could track how well I was doing and go to this webpage and see all my points. I later move to valve 1 because after topping off at the 2fort server all these guys were worth like 25 points a pop! Sweet! hlxstatsx was the only thing I knew that can track how I was doing and it was the only way I felt I could test my skill.

Basically, for a competitive personality, if you're absolutely oblivious to the fact that competitive TF2 exists, then hlxstatsx is your bread and butter. This is why I think their stats are so important to them.

I don't think so. You can hide your ranking but you will still be tracked.
