    Sourceop DOS fixer bug?

    Hey guys,

We're great fans of your plugin. We have ran into a situation where on windows boxes, this plugin will sometimes bring "Steam Ticket Issue" or something relating to it. The error shows a steam authentication problem. Not sure if steam is hammering our servers and the plugin blocks. If you like, PMing me privately to discuss this issue is possible.

If I disable the plugin, no steam ticket issues. We are experts in CSS server running, so we have done a lot of additional troubleshooting, pointing the issue to possibly this. Any experience or ideas about this issue in relation to your plugin? Please advise us.

The steam ticket issue happens when Valve's authentication servers go down. The server can fail to automatically reconnect and a server restart will solve it. I think it's unrelated to the plugin.

Steam servers go down was ruled out earlier.

We have dedicated hosting inside the same datacenter and they don't receive the issue. Only when we turn off the plugin, does it stop for a period of time.

I'll find a way to prove this with data for you.

I run eight TF2 servers. Before Valve fixed it for TF2, when the steam servers went down, some servers would have authentication problems, and some would not.

When you say "turn off the plugin," does it involve a server restart or are you using the CVAR to disable the plugin. If you're restarting the server, I'm not convinced.

I leave the plugin on, reboot, it doesn't resolve issue. If I take plugin off, reboot, it works again. I physically remove the plugin when I say turn it off.

I usually just reboot the entire server and this somehow resolves it as well.

If I don't install this plugin and leave it off, the problem never comes back, hence why I'm looking over this plugin.

I'll come back with really strong data and a way for us to duplicate on your end.

Run the plugin with daf_log set to 1. It'll write a log to addons/daf/log.txt. If any of the IPs are Valve IPs, then we can assume it's the plugin. Otherwise, the plugin isn't doing anything.

I agree. I'll review the logs during these outages.

There was an update released today. One of the changes was "Fixed players being kicked from servers with an INVALID_STEAM_TICKET rejection." Try it out.
