Question Did the forum switch to vBulletin inaccurately ban certain users?

I hope this is okay to ask here, I don't see any other dedicated forum or thread for these type of questions.

I was checking my reputation thread and was surprised to see one particular person on my list banned on this website, because I have traded with them a number of times and they had very good and long rep. So I looked in to it further out of curiosity, expecting to find some horrible reason but I couldn't find anything at all. I checked steamrep and their profile is completely clean, I searched on google for their steamid/username and didn't find anything either. I contacted the user and he says he has no idea why the ban on sourceop occurred but it happened after the switch to the new forum, no reason for the ban was given.

    sourceop account: http://forums.sourceop.com/members/6734-brutalenigma
sourceop rep: http://forums.sourceop.com/threads/1...ddleman-thread (29 pages of rep)
    steamID: ]TPG[*ctrl-alt-DESTROY!
    steamID32: STEAM_0:1:13807401
    steamID64: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197987880531
    customURL: http://steamcommunity.com/id/ra0ulDuke
    steamrepURL: http://steamrep.com/profiles/76561197987880531

Seems kind of odd. Would an admin or mod please confirm if the ban was legitimate or is this some type of a glitch? The user in question didn't ask me to check, I was just curious myself. Thanks.

The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth becomes the greatest enemy of the State.

We usually do not discuss member bans with 3rd parties, best he add an admin to sort it out if he thinks its in error.
