    Soundcard help?

Well recently I built my first gaming computer and i'm having trouble not hearing anything from my sound card. It's an Asus Xonar Essence ST and i've downloaded the driver and everything although their is frequency showing when i'm listening to something the sound won't come out.

I've checked that I installed it properly on to my motherboard, Updated the latest Windows 7, re-installed the driver(the latest from Asus's website), disabled my motherboards audio but still nothing is working.

    Any suggestions?

You're making sure that everything is going through the right device?

There are several different output devices on a sound-card and if it's set to digital audio device or the optical port it would show sound being produced in windows but not actually transmit out of the 3.5mm port.

also, the audio software that came pre-installed with the mb, could be causing an issue. or you might just have to select which port u're going out of. (a lot of sound cards these days require u (in the options/set up menu) to choose which output---USB/3.5/etc...

I'm sure I installed it correctly, and i'm using a headphone to listen to my soundcard and I using a smaller headphone jack to bigger headphone jack which I used to try to listen to it but doesn't work.

EDIT: It's working i'm using the RCA left and right cable via Headphone to listen through it. But i'm not sure if it's working because I not sure if i'm hearing any difference to be quite honest compare to the motherboard.

I'll try to mess around with my computer since this is the first time using a soundcard and if I can' get it to work i'll just post pictures and someone can point out what I should do.
