The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth becomes the greatest enemy of the State.

Also windows service packs don't cost 150$ and they actually fix things. (lol snow leopard)

The fact that you can disable it easily makes your opinion on it sort of meaningless as if you don't like it you can simply choose to turn it off.Originally Posted by TheDopp
It's like going into a restaurant and not wanting mushrooms on your omelet. Just tell them not to put mushrooms in it. You don't have to go up in arms on the internet saying how shit their omelets are because they have mushrooms in them.
And backwards compatibility is bad now? You realize that's a really important for an operating system that most people actually use for real work, right?
I mean most of the industrial computer installations I've done have been using windows 7 with 8-12 year old software because the machines they're setup to manufacture with don't have updated infrastructure. If they "removed these apps so the OS would evolve" it would force them to either not upgrade the OS in their machines ever, or pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in new equipment that they didn't need.
