Weapon Skins on TF2 2Fort [NO MODS][NO BS] Server

Within the last few days (about 5) I have not been able to use my weapon skins for Team Fortress 2 on the SourceOP.com TF2 2Fort [NO MODS][NO BS] server. I have been able to use my skins for awhile now on that specific server, and have proved that the problem is in fact the server and not my skins, because when I play on other servers it works. I know that some servers don't allow skins, but I was just wondering why all of a sudden now this server is disabling weapon skins (player model skins still work, another reason why I'm not sure why weapon skins have been disabled).

    Thanks in advance,
    Longhorns747
(I tried to be as through as I could with the issue D: )

As soon as I update the pure server rules, player skins will be disabled but weapon model skins will be allowed.

Your custom weapon skins should work again soon.

Awesome, thanks for the prompt reply! Not to press the matter, but is there a way to make both player and weapon models work? And also, any idea as to when this update will be released?

    Thanks in advance!

Custom player skins are intentionally disabled to help prevent mathacks.

Not to be a pest or anything, but I just have to ask a question. You say that custom player skins are going to be disabled to prevent mathacks, but that weapon skins are going to be okay. What about other custom things, such as sprites, crosshairs, and sound? Your post only specified weapon skins, so I just wanted to be sure.

The main thing I'm wondering about is custom sounds. Having custom sounds and playing on one of your servers (or any server, really) while sv_pure 1 is active seems to be causing some glitchy side-effects, such as squeaking after every reload, sounds being played really slow or really fast, things like that. It's really very annoying. I just want to know if sounds will be allowed so that I can be certain of what action I should take - wait a few days or remove the sound files. (honestly, now that I've written this, I realize that I should probably just move the sounds into another folder...)

It'll be a shame to see cool skins like the battle-hardened soldier/demo and the hell's angels pyros go, but I can't think of any cause better than preventing mathacks.

Right now it blocks all custom sounds and I was planning on keeping it that way. What custom sounds are you using?

When a spy decloaks it plays:

    AOOOGA-AOOOOOOGA-AOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGA

    That should be fine.

Lol, ya, that's why all custom sounds are off now.

I use custom firing and reloading sounds on most of the weapons, hence the buggy sounds. I think I may have also had custom engineer building sounds, but those didn't cause problems. But yes, I see what N0body means, that sounds can also be used to cheat.

Isn't it possible to cheat with weapon models/skins as well? I'd imagine that people would be able to mathack with those as well. Granted, you could only see a weapon and probably not tell if it's an enemy in some cases, but still.
