It's not a fucking spreadsheet, that is stated nowhere on the site, it's just people giving their opinion on a hat and you're welcome to join in and give yours too.

Stop being butthurt because people don't value your unusual as much as your overpriced price.

You want something to joke about? http://www.tf2unusualhats.com/

Why someone would make a site called TF2 PRICECHECK to gather opinions on hats is beyond me.
Either people visiting that site don´t know about trading and prices or they are butthurtmad and thus devalue unusuals at their hearts content.

TF2PC really needs a disclaimer on their homepage stating "We are not a spreadsheet, every idiot can command our prices" to salvate us from the fools who actually use it as priceguide.

TF2PC is like the flamebucket, they talk shit about things they don´t understand all day and when they don´t, they are right. Simple as that, everything there is to be taken with huge grains of salt, yet the site has the word Pricecheck in it, which is a very confusing concept to me.

Because people on TF2PC give their opinion on what the hat would sell for in the current market. Unusuals vary in price by massive amounts and their value is all subjective - I could say a purple energy brigade helm should be 20 buds, does that mean it would sell for that? Nope.

There are a lot of traders / people entering the unusual scene that genuinely do not know what something is worth. Quite frankly there have been a lot of 1 of 1 high tier hats that have come to ask on PC for an opinion on their hat and saved them from trading it into something far worse.

    Just as an example: http://www.tf2pricecheck.net/Thread-...ames-Salty-Dog

As someone who has used TF2PC, I'm curious where people suggest those of us who do not magically know the value of unusual go to find that out. How are people supposed to buy and sell something without having any idea what it is worth?

By looking at current offers, past sales and common sense.

Alright, but I very rarely see any current offers nearly as high as what most people set as B/Os and commone sense only applies to something you have knowledge of. Someone who has no experience in trading unusuals cannot use commone sense because they have no knowledge of what to expect out of the hat that they just unboxed or what the value of the hat they want actually is.

Given that the majority of the offers I see around are lowballs and people trying to buy quicksells then I guess using common sense I should be offering half or less than half of people B/O prices.

Not only that but common sense tells me that paying thousands or EVEN hundreds of dollars on a damn hat for a video game. So I guess according to common sense I should be able to make a $50 offer on a burning TC and it would be legit because that is more than I paid for the damn game.
