    Veto Pop-up Size

I get distracted when the veto screen pop-up, pops-up, when I'm in the middle of combat. I usually just push 1 or 2 to make it go away and continue on without knowing what I vetoed. I also hear others on Valve Maps (74.54.24.194:27015) bitch *talk* about how annoying it is. If the size of the veto screen was half of what it is now, that would help.

I know that may mean removing text. Why not put in a sourceop.net URL that describes the veto process. ie.

The next map is well, would you like to skip it?

I don't know if the size matters as much as the fact that it blocks people from pushing keys to change weapon and what not.

A lot of the text could probably be cut, but it might be confusing for newbies.

How about this. Newbies see the full text. Regulars see the slimmed down version.

Could the voting buttons be changed to another set of keys that are easily reachable to a touch typist, like 9 and 0?

The only thing that I found that bothered me was the same thing everyone complains about. Blocking weapon switching for that 1 or 2 seconds it takes to skim for the map name and make a decision.

It's only gotten me killed once but that's ONE TIME TO MANY. RAGERAGERAGE... j/k. No harm, no foul.

I think it would be fine if it didn't disable the rest of your number keys while the vote was up. I've died a couple of times because I was out of ammo in both guns and I pressed 3 to get my melee weapon out real fast as I was in mid-battle with someone and then the vote comes up leaving me running around with an empty weapon spamming 3333333 until I die. I could've just used the mouse wheel to scroll to the weapon, but I have a habit of using my number key. Usually I use the "previous inventory" key to switch between primary and secondary and I use the number 3 to pull out my melee weapon. Just a habit I've formed over the years while playing Valve games.

Ya, I usually use lastinv key to switch weapons so the vote doesn't really bother me. If I made the vote keys 9 and 0 or whatever, it would still disable the rest of your keys. The best solution is to make it only show up on round intermission when everyone is sitting in spawn. But then, you have to make some sort of fallback just in case that never happens within the last few minutes of a map. What exactly that fallback should be, I don't know.
