Crit streaks are one of the funnest things about TF2 when you get yourself in seemingly impossible situations but you don't give up and a crit gets you out of it.
Taking away crits is like CS servers disabling certain guns and grenades. It's part of the game, deal with it.
crits are skills cause adder said so
Did you use an English->French dictionary to cause what I said to translate into that?Originally Posted by Hell-met
I just played arena on the SOP server for the first time and its definitely a challenging twist to regular cp maps but I don't understand why so people want crits off. Is it just because you only have one life per round or do you just hate them in general? For the less skilled players or people who play medic I see the crits as a handicap for the people who have more skill. It kind of levels the playing field right? If you are l337 enough to forgo crits props to you but trying killing anything as a medic w/o crits.
ggs btw - this server seems to have a good crowd
not speaking for everyone here, but i think its because you just have 1 life you have any idea how aggrivating it is to head out of the gate on say lumberyard and meet to the side of the building just to be hit with a skilless crit rocket that puts you out of the game for as long as arena lasts (have seen up to 7-10 minute long arena matches).
Which is why you don't run headlong around corners.Originally Posted by trover4
I always felt that crits are a reward system for players who are actually engaging the objective. I agree that taking a rocket to the face that only had a 2% chance of existing is irritating, but it's a trade off. By doing enough damage in a short amount of time, you can have a 12% chance of a crit - like a treat for doing what you're supposed to be doing in the game.
