quicksell threads are part of the game, as is scamming. it can't destroy the market, because who would do it, if there was no profit to be made.
stop getting butthurt about nothing.![]()
If we can identify a thorn in the side of traders and prevent it, shouldn't we?Originally Posted by nartius
It's clear that the only people who like quicksell threads are the promo owners themselves who almost never get a deal they deem satisfactory because they're asking for obvious profit which the seller could easily get, meaning that by definition, they don't make sense. Scammers are banned from outpost & SOP, surely blocking these kinds of posts is taking similar precautions to benefit the greater amount of people.
And while we are at it, lets block certain ads on eBay...i mean, if I am trying to sell a hello kitty backpack for 20.00 and some guy with ten hello kitty backpacks is selling his for 12.50 each, thats so not fair to me! Grow up kids...the value of something is decided between the buyer and seller and if trends arise that increase or lower the value of something, there is no way for you to 'stop' those sales in an effort to maintain your 'preferred' values...Originally Posted by Sam
Its nothing personal, I just don't like it.
I pay buyouts and I also usually overpay - Like a baws.
People get butthurt about that, but I don't give a fuck, I'd rather overpay and fuck someone else over than be a cheap dick lol![]()
The point that is being made is this, that EVERYONE is doing it now - and i do mean everyone....., and this makes it more difficult for sellers to get the value they paid for top tier unusuals - unless they get very very lucky and come across the right buyer/collector @ the exact correct specific time. Can't make a profit if you buy a hat at close to true value only to be lowballed by all the idiots offering 60% - marketing 101.Originally Posted by nartius
Personally I Don't really give a fuck about low tier - I quicksell most of my lower tier shit, and price very fairly my mid tier stuff. The problem is that the people who make this market worthwhile - like me or other collectors who have no problem paying through the ass for top end gear - are fewer and fewer every day.
well that only means demand is going down, because in the end there are no "true values", just a buyers / sellers market. and if the demand goes down, so go the prices.Originally Posted by Ras

That's true of course, not going to deny that. And I don't begrudge people making threads like that, as profit is something that everyone can understand. The issue is the fact as other people have said that everyone is doing it, 80% of the market or even more. Now I can understand people who are in the market for a while, have the promo's and hats, and use the game to make a profit with the system. But the point is that every Tom Dick and Harry is doing it, usually with 1 bud or something similar, and expecting a pretty good hat for this (3-4buds worth). Or people who are listing 10 buds looking for a 25 bud hat - gtfo. That seems to be the way of the market, and this is the main reason that most people are cashing out, it has become retarded
Plus, if everyone is doing this quicksales only, it won't be long before the market has no genuine buyers left, who is gonna make a fast profit then eh? Everyone will be playing hard to get, buying only "quicksales" at retardedly low prices, but noone is gonna buy it off of them at their buyout - because everyone is doing the exact same thing.
Those two clearly cant be compared, I'm okay with the market changing, but if you were clever enough to actually read what I wrote, people just trying to get trades to make instant profit which is literally asking people to rip themselves off which is completely ridiculous and just takes up space is a ridiculous claim, "kid".Originally Posted by hyden

Quick-selling is spreading now.
