    What would sorce OP do?

A few days ago, I had a falling out with a with a friend of several years over some stupid shit. Anyway, about a month prior to that, he gives me a copy of CS:GO and tells me to sell it for cash and at some point down the road, when there is a cheap game he wants on steam, I'd grab it for him. Now he made it very clear when I tried to patch things up with him that he never wants to speak to me again, and knowing him I don't doubt the truth to that. That said, as I never got around to selling the copy of CS:GO, should I just hold onto in the very rare chance he contacts me wanting it back, or should I give it to a friend of mine who wanted a copy of that game, but could not afford it?

Nothing sucks more than losing a long-time friend. My advice is that you use the CS:GO as a chance to reconnect and make amends. Continue with the sale and give him his cash.

As for your friend that can't afford the game, I'm sorry to say but if everyone can't pay their own way, they shouldn't get to play.

I ended up giving it to a mutual friend of ours to give back to him. I really doubt we will reconnect over this though, I just want to wash my hands of the situation.

sounds like you were a bad friend
The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth becomes the greatest enemy of the State.

sels my gams thens gives mes moneys.
I don't see why he expects you to go out and beyond to sell a key for him only so he can crack a whip in a few weeks, months, whatever, and have you buy something for him.
Also without context of the situation it's hard to give you any real advice.
I was a commando you know.

When he gave me it it was still selling for like $20, so I could realistically sell it, get him like a $10 game later and still have some profit. Even with out room to make a profit, I probably would have still done it, I don't mind doing favors for friends.
