The best suggestion I've heard in any forum was for the scout to have a wet towel to replace the bat.
He can whip people from behind and send them flying into the air in agony.
The same commentary that said that they would never make a gun that hindered the opponent by slowing them down?Originally Posted by Hell-met

to an audio clip in a developers commentary? How do I do that?

agreed...there are a few great custom maps that solve these problems. But of course, they are custom maps therefore no one ever plays them.Originally Posted by Kou
I could see hanging on stuff for the scout being somewhat useful in some key situations...
The really big thing for me, is i want the scout to be like he is in the meet the scout video...where you run and dodge some sentry fire to get behind enemy lines and wreak (sp?) havoc...
Kou you should really go play highlander sometime to fall back in love with the scout...and the game for that matter.
You tell me where the freaking node is.Originally Posted by OmegaZero_Alpha
i 2nd this...as i seem to be skipping over it. not to mention they've had weapons that hindered movement since the game released.Originally Posted by Hell-met
Yeah, turns out I was completely wrong on that one, I went through a transcript of the commentary on the TF2 wiki and couldn't find anything about it.
I can't remember where I saw it, but it was a developer addressing the reasons why they didn't include the spie's tranquilizer gun in TF2. They said that they never wanted to hinder people's ability to play by adding a weapon that can blind them, cause them to hallucinate (from the drug-grenades), slowing them down or freezing them in place.
The reason for this was among the same lines that they wouldn't include standard grenades, and that was because it took away from the "fun factor" of the game, and only served to make it incredibly frustrating.

That does ring a bell to me
