not so fast...most come from the bigger message boards and are copied onto the image boards. I believe Gaia produces a far larger amount of those pictures than you might have orginally thought. That and as a member of somethingawful i have definatly seen a ton of stuff used on 4chan that was originally from there. I personally dislike (very much) 4chan, but i try not to judge and my statements here are mostly unbiased. Although they do have a couple pretty damn good things.

This being as SomethingAweful is prettymuch dead, as anybody who was stupid enough to pay for a forum wasn't funny. Most of the members who left there wen't to 4chan anyway.

Gaia Online was always stupid, I created an account in like '04 and promptly left. (Gaia sure tries the hardest to be funny)
