I get the Caps Lock part, but the 'language doesn't make you cool' portion seems kind of self-defeating given your previous argument.

You seem to hold language in high-regard and then lump it together with Caps Lock abuse...unless you meant 'Also, Caps Lock in language don't make you cool.' which would make more sense.

The point I am making here is that while everyone reading this (including myself) know what you meant, if I focus on your 'use of language' instead of simply taking it as meant, it derails the conversation and would make me look like an insecure person looking to gain validation by correcting others via the internet.

Many people enjoy correcting other people. It makes them feel better about themselves. I actually gave into the desire with this post. I wish that wasnt an attribute of society, but until we lose the instinctive desire to be better than others (real or percieved), it will continue.
