Seems like a pretty good laptop, have a question though. Its single core? Seems to have a pretty slow clocking speed - mines dual core - 2.53ghz. But yeah you are getting an I7 so I'm not too keyed up on how the cores work on the newer system, just seems a little slow for gaming. Just curious
Looks like a nice lappy nonetheless, just make sure to check out the vents on it...
Edit : lul that graphics card with the 3gb mem will be sweet....

i7s are offered as either dual or quad. i3 - i7 are at least dual

edit: as standard - there are also 6 core premium models

thats a quadcore cpu, also i did some research seems for the price, this is one of the best laptop for gaming u can get, in that range, msi got medium build quality but packs alot for the price, best bang for your bucks imo.

thanks for all the input, seems ill be getting it,
oh and on video reviews, people have stated it has the backlit steelseries keyboard with dynaudio speakers, but in the specs it just says "hd audio" and "touchpad keyboard full size"

    bit confused

edit: just got a reply from them saying that it includes the dynaudio and steelseries features.

hope i can get the money in time before it goes out of stock/discontinued, and seeing as im a student it might take a while, sad day

Eh that sucks.... Might be worth stretching it though in the long run. I will never regret spending 3 grand (euros) on my baby

Mine is about 2 years old now, its only an XPS 1640 - but (and this is a rather BIG 'but') - I didn't want to pay through my ass for an alienware when its just basically the casing you pay for haha. I specced mine - faster HDD, bigger Graphics Card, blah blah blah :P I still paid less than the ideal Alienware I was looking at and got similar specs. In fact I paid roughly what the lowest Alienware was priced at @ the time, and still came out with a system as good as one of the top Tier ones provided. Lol win!

so i found the same laptop on another reliable aussie site with a 750gb hdd and a 2 year warranty instead of 500gb and 1 year.

im slightly confused though as it says in the specs:

    "Screen Size: 15.6 WXGA
    Resolution: 1920X1080"

i was curious and googled WXGA and found this:

"Wide XGA (WXGA) is a display class (or standard) that supports a resolution of 1366 to 1280 pixels horizontally and 768 to 720 pixels vertically."

So im wondering, is this screen actually full hd? apparently wxga only supports 1366 to 768 res max but says its 1920 by 1080

    any help? thanks
