Someone offered my B/O for my item and once I added him, he wanted me to add towards the trade, and I did, quite a bit actually and he still wanted more...

GCoin, I think it's fair for the person to be somewhat Greedy if you added him, It could have been he/she had no intentions of trading it, had no idea of the value of your offer and got some advice from someone and was told it was a good / great deal. What was the hat and what was offered?

If I enjoy a hat I'm greedy as a mofo, If I don't or am over it I give it away cheap.

My Greediest moment was when I owned the Moon Veil, It cost me $350ish during the event, the owner had been taking offers for a couple days and had a deal he was taking which I beat by a decent amount (sorry cuddle). It was at a point where no1 knew where the effects will sit and were stand offish with their offers but I went full out and spent $2.5 - $3k in that 2 week period.

When I got the Veil I had 2 offers of $750+ within 2 weeks of the event ending, even though I knew I was making profit on it I felt I would have been selling it cheap and valued it higher... I ended up setting my b.o @ burning Modest (got my thread trolled by the haters) and instead got a Burning Samur-Eye from the one and only FlutterShy

In saying that I paid $350 for a Moon DragonBorne and sold it for $200 and paid $300ish for a Moon SNS :/

i watch your trades, and have spoken to you before when we were steam friends, and im aware that you in particular, win some, and lose some. overall it probably evens out so it doesnt matter too much in the end.

but this guy im talking about was greed incarnate...i added him and he told me he wanted extra just because i was 'a collector', whilst explicitly acknowledging that he thought my offer was good, and directly saying that it was miles ahead of his other offers. when i wouldnt add to my offer, he deleted me. then, of course, the next day he had added me saying that he would take my offer, and i felt so embarassed for him that i couldnt help but troll him...

    his loss.

^^^^ I see mate, yeah some people like to push their luck... I hate it when there's a $400ish odd exchange in the works and the trader is asking if I can add a couple ref :/

Quite easily THE most annoying thing ever. I used to get several add's per day with people offering me flies, at highly inflated prices just because "they saw I was a collector"

Used to get it even more, when in a very rare occasion I would be trading promos, or the odd flies hat here and there.

Just because I like an effect, and own a fair few doesn't mean I'm going trade/overpay for every single one.

This frustrates me to no end. The only cauldron ballcap left on sale noticed I'm trying to make a cauldron collection together and said he won't take less than my burning charmers on it...

Halloween effects are a bitch :/

You're the second person to mention that hat today. It went for 140 (or 100, too lazy to look) when I bought many months ago. Its not even the best scoot hat (trilby represent), I just bought it because it was the cheapest one with cauldron on the market at the time.
Greed bites people in the ass in this economy. But at the same time, what can be seen as greedy (for such a high price) by some, can be considered weeding out the unworthy by others. If Teeird wasn't a shark, I would have bought his cauldron Grimm when it was 340. (still need that hat. And a Tam. And the bonk boy. And something soldier flavored. And a slug... sigh)
Others might go 'oh fun hat', and balk at the price, but for the one collector out there? Perfectly reasonable. Well, at least for those fun hats. Gifted Fetti Coupe? Sure there will be a collector eventually trying to buy all of them up so that none may have to deal with them again, but till then, not worth 5 buds.
