Im not really sure what you are getting at, although I dont know about the old ctf_well, but as for the old gold rush, it was pretty even to begin with. If anything they made it more imbalanced to favor one side at different points in the game. Although that was already in place in its conception, the divide seems to have grown further apart.

Is it just me or are the new spy abilities just retarded? I would rather have a weaker engie and a weaker spy, than a super engie and a super duper spy. Whole map cloaking = not fun.

woops i forgot to read the entire post. sorry hell-met, in which case on further review i do have the original ctf_well anyway.

agreed with jamaican, its not that i can't adapt to new map changes (changes to badwater were better and i like the changes to ctf_well also) its that the new changes make the game more imbalanced on those maps. Instant teleporters and dispensers healing as fast as medics is just simply silly. Spies cloaking forever isn't overpowered, because before for a spy to be effective the person that played spies had to have put many hours of practice into spy before they got any good at all. while any other class in the game a newbie could pick up and play (not necessarily well) but not feel like they were doing nothing. I remember i got my record for kills (21) as scout with about 15 hours in scout. I would have to check again but i have around 25 hours in spy and was rarely (although occasionally) effective for anything but removing newbie engineer camps). It makes really good spies as good as any other class. and it makes bad spies as balanced as any other class. Cloaking indefinatly next to an enemy dispenser is dumb, but ammo should have refilled spies cloaking from the beginning anyway.

I love that you can stand on a lvl3 dispenser indefinitely and stay cloaked, even restore cloak.

I have started leaving lvl 3 dispensers out so spies can use them. (the enemy spies are my friends)

lol, you can stand next to a lvl 1 and stay invisible indefinatly but it doesn't restore cloaking, just keeps you cloaked. You can see the stream go to the spy, but a weird clipping issues on top of lvl 3s makes that beam invisible if a spy stands on top (they might have fixed that already, but it sure is interesting finding a spy up there when there is no sign)
