must say i haven't heard of anyone enjoying the balcony they put on goldrush 1.2 . It made that part of goldrush being slightly favored to red to being overwhelming favored to blu. Its impossible to defend without rushing an uber engineer into that hole. And since its so easy to obtain as blu it helps them concentrate their focus on the attic (which is the chokepoint of the map that basically decided whether or not red or blu wins depending on how early blu gets it, if at all). So my proposal is to change back to the old goldrush map to run 24/7. again your server your decision df...but please listen!

I don't like it because people don't want to download a map before they join a server, and a custom map inherently makes the server less popular and decreases donations.
Oh wait, did they add this to the map in the update? IT WASN'T IN THE UPDATE LOG, GODDAMNIT!

If steam doesnt bring it back, would it be possible to create a "custom map" that is identical to the old Goldrush minus the house in the first map and the boarded up 3rd window in the 3rd window?

tjx i and many others still have access to the original bz2 file for the map as it came with the game, no need to recreate anything.

Hey guys do you still have the old ctf_well since it's much much better than the current version because I can't adapt at all?

i think i do hell-met, but i have to know exactly which one you are referring to, because i don't have the ctf-well that was originally released. But there isn't much difference between the one i have now and the original one, while it is miles apart from the new one.

and rightfully so, IMO. the maps were changed for a reason (and that reason isnt to unbalance the game, obviously)
