I have played Heavy for a total of two hours...I am a MUCH better Engineer so that would be fantastic.

I really think the first team is wayyyy overstacked. Sups, Spam, and Zalfy? Im all for winning and everything but that is ridiculous. Also 1 player per class just seems to be a big problem. I can understand not allowing too many demos and medics, but when you are forcing players to take on classes they never play (i.e. me as Heavy) the tournament loses its fun factor (thats right, i used fun factor seriously).
I love the players on my team, but I think there should be a small mix up. Anyways, thats all from this handsome snip...er....heavy.... Damn.

have to agree with bufus too, except for i still think it should be highlander. But i think instead of making people play classes that they don't play you just make more teams. So true about those team creations though. Its put together as ACE team a b team and a c team as if it were all the best of a position (on these servers) on one team vs the second best on another vs the third best on another. It needs mixed up a good bit more. Maybe even do the old "FatKid" way where you assign team captains. and go around picking players out of a group for their respective positions. That way you still get good players, but the teams aren't stacked. There are other ways of course.

yea honestly im not sure how we wanted to pick teams.
team captains would be good, anyone who feels like being team captain, go for it?
3 of u guys start being team captains, and take turns picking a person for ur team and position.
but when we do play the other servers, i would like to have an "optimal" team setup.
so maybe teams to practice against each other, then a "server" team?

I think we should have a "best of goldrush team," but from there on down it should be whoever wants to play play whatever you dont mind playing. Come on we're all goldrushers here. Get a group of people who enjoy playing together and go from there. At that rate its not so much about winning but having "competitive" fun.

I'll throw up an idea that sort of blends some of the ones already suggested. What my clan used to do, since we had a large group of members, was split our active squad into two teams (red & blue). The teams were divided so that all members agreed that the skill level was balanced on each side (what we're trying to do here). Each week, the two squads would hold a scrimmage against each other; the winning squad got to play in the league match representing our team. It was a fair method that all our members accepted; everyone had an equal opportunity of being the "Gold" team for the week.
Also, I'm still confused on the tournament structure, but as far as teams are concerned, I believe we should continue doing what Frost has set forth. Let's continue dividing the server up as best as possible so that most, if not all, can agree on the skill balance and fairness of each team.
If we do want to have an "Optimal" team represent the Gold Rush Server, have each GR team scrimmage against each other. Whichever GR team wins is essentially the "Optimal" team for the GR server.
Personally, I don't mind if I'm on the A team or the C team, but I'm worried that there may be some participants or regulars that are concerned if they make the cut for the "Gold" team. What made a lot of members unhappy in my clan (and a few quit), was when we ultimately made a set-"Gold" squad.
Like I said, just an idea.

I like those ideas, Mailman. Last night we had a somewhat stacked team with Sups, SPAM, and a few others, and lost a few times to a not-as-stacked (or so I thought) team with Biology, Frost and some others!
