I guess I'll post this here for lack of a better place to post. I feel as though this whole situation has spiraled out of control a bit. It's become a massive witch hunt with a few people that have yet to have any proof against them being shunned and "burned at the stake" persay. There's a lot of "evidence" going around that really doesn't prove anything whatsoever. This all started out as something against sharks and Blackened's shark tool, but it's turned into openly hunting people who may or may not deserve it whatsoever. All this does is give Sourceop a bad impression upon people that may actually be looking to us for a decision about sharking. What does it say about the implementation of a shark tag if already some people are going nuts trying to hunt down and point fingers at every person?
I myself did a bit of this, pointing fingers to tf2-trader admins, which I do apologize for, but beyond that I believe it's kinda gotten a bit silly. I say we cut back and focus on the main thing first, which would be to figure out a good system for singling out known sharks, tagging them if necessary, or at least figuring out some way to make tf2 a safer place for trading noobs. Above all else, that's what this is for. It's not about personal vendettas or to catch as many sharks or would-be sharks as possible, but to protect the integrity of the TF2 community as a whole. So I say enough of the hardcore investigations that don't exactly form any solid evidence, and let's try to do something with the big picture first off. This is all just what I've been noticing over the course of the past few weeks, and as many of you know I've been a big advocate against sharking through the whole ordeal as well. Let's keep it civil guys!

Soon, it'll probably be too late because more people will be in more pockets, because I get it, money talks. I love this game and don't want it to turn into a huge ring of deception where you don't know who to trust or who the good guys are. These assholes that shark are just as pathetic as scammers and they need to be put on fucking blast for the whole community to see. God forbid we actually expect people to have morals or to act like decent humans. We have the tools, fucking use them.

I never said to sweep it under the rug. But before we started hunting down every shark in existence we should focus on creating a system to stop them or at least punish them to start with. Having a 100 person list of sharks won't do anything if there's no punishments against them, that's all I was trying to say. Boom was already accused wrongfully, and there's a lot of others being accused of being alts when they're clearly not. They may still be guilty, but the finger pointing has gotten a tad out of hand. I want every shark scumbag punished and found out as much as the next, but starting a massive shitfest isn't gonna solve anything.

ill tell u what mike since day one theres been sharking and scamming, like in real life people take advantage of people for a quick buck, may it be a fiscal gain, political, religious gain, people will take advantage of u for these and other reasons, tf2 is like the real world, full of dishonesty and corruption, yes ud expect more honesty, and so on, its only since a little while people are building up cases against big sharks and scammers, and u do complain about all these problems, ive had the same experiences as u, sharked, scammed, hacked once, but what solution do u propose, to help us fight against the impurities of tf2, like we said before a sharking tag like a scamming tag on sourcerep.com and player education on unusual pricing, so people are more educated and than can make mature and toughtful decisions on unusual purchasing and trading, may the investigations continue, i dont know really how to help except, point out new scammers and sharks to steamrep.com and here, besides that i guess educate novice traders to good trading and value of items , joe bones jmpg the fuck out

I've gotta say though, I'm not sure how much good an shark tag will do, because the people who get sharked aren't the kind of people who check someones rep and such, thats why it happens in the first place. They don't know the unusual trading community, prices and so on, so people take advantage of that. Identifying those people to the trading community won't help the people getting sharked because they simply don't know about these things.

OhMyGah, since there's no system in place atm, we're posting evidence which makes a number of traders look suspicious and we want these traders to come forward and either be man enough to own up to what they are doing (If you have the balls to shark noobs, you should have the balls to tell people about it) or post some counter evidence which clears their name. Those who are staying silent and/or posting you mad comments is only making them look much much worse.
....and Ziltoid, there's a lot of discussion flying round on the topic of what to with sharks and how to prevent them, only a matter of time before one of the ideas is implemented and the people with total lack of morals are finally named and shamed, they get everything they deserve.
