I get the rules and regs of SteamREP, I get it. But there needs to be some updates to it. Not because it's a hate Blackened bandwagon (I actually didn't mind the guy till I starting discovering shit about him when Scorpion was telling me about the document he was making). But because it's just wrong.
I hate when people say "Well Mike, this shit happens everyday, even in the real world". No shit, but when we have the tools, in our own community, to mark people/put a huge dent in their "rings", it pisses me off.
It just seems like you guys are sitting on your hands (to SteamREP). Make Sharking taggable. There's zero reason to not do so. SteamREP, you guys do a great job and keep track of alot of people. It's time to expand and adapt to new tactics used by people to get what they want. I know SteamREP isn't the know all/say all but it's a great start to limit sharks.
I appreciate the thanks Mike.......I'd just like to make it clear that I'm not just doing this as Mike puts it to jump on the "hate bandwagon" for Blackened, I intend to produce many more reports because I've realised after this whole fiasco, traders aren't what they seem. There's a lot more deception going on than what I first though, and that's quite disappointing in a community that relies on trust.Originally Posted by MikeV
I'd like to bring to attention SteamRep's own policy:
"A scammer is anyone that uses deception, thievery, lies, or anything that is underhanded to take advantage of or steal from another trader."
If you ask my personal opinion, sharking falls right into this category. Sharks will actively seek out a "victim" who they know for a fact won't know the price of their unusual, whether it be through unboxing, low hours or otherwise and use that to coax the victim to give their high value unusual to them for super cheap.
like ive said before, in my opinion and others that steamrep should add a new tag, meant for people who actively shark others, not a caution an actual tag, like a scammer tag but instead its a shark tag, and something needs to be done, if we want a clean trading area in tf2, its enought with the scamming, and the sharking, we already done something for the scammers, now its time to upgrade to list also the sharks,
Blackened killed my family.
